Local groups opposed to wind farms are holding a public meeting in Ballyroan Community Hall on Tuesday, August 27 at 8pm.
The organisers say the meeting will inform people about the proposals and advise on an appropriate response to windfarms being planned.
“We would encourage any body from Laois who is concerned, or would like more information or would like to preserve our wonderful environment to come to the meeting,” say the organisers.
Coillte have lodged a planning application for wind development on Cullenagh mountain. The plan is to build 18 turbines (131m tall) across Cullenagh and into Clonticoe.
Another company has applied to erect 150 metre high turbines close to Clonticoe in the Spink area.
