Potential wind farm near Vanderhoof going through review stage

The company looking to set up a wind farm south of Vanderhoof is putting plans in place for the project. Wind tests conducted by Quebec based Innergex has found the region as a good place to set up a wind farm. Spokesperson Bas Brusche says the company says a wind farm in the Nulki Hills area could possibly produce 200 megawatts of power.

“And to give you an illustration, one megawatt is enough power to have 500 households delivered energy for a full year,” says Brusche, “so this is quite a substantial project in potential.”

Brusche says Innergex plans on putting up between 70-75 wind turbines in the Nulki Hills area. He says they are currently going through the environmental review process with the province, local governments and local first nations.
