The Wells County Area Plan Commission took several votes Wednesday night, but at the end, only two votes mattered – the 6-3 votes that approved the two wind turbine development plan petitions submitted by Apex Wind Energy. The six votes in favor represented the barest possible majority. There were murmurs of disapproval during the meeting from those opposed to the wind turbines and the meeting closed with comments directed at the APC members – among them, “You are incompetent.” Apex must now negotiate with the Wells County Commissioners and members of the Wells County Council on items such as decommissioning agreements.
