Study finds Mason County wind park doesn’t exceed sound limit

Concerns about noise from a wind park, and the results from a study done on the noise levels leave many still seeking answers.

The Mason County Planning Commission met to discuss a study done on the noise coming from the Lake Winds Energy Park.

The study looked at whether or not wind turbines exceed the noise level allowed by the park’s zoning ordinance.

HGC engineering says their study concluded all that sound doesn’t exceed 45 decibels, which is the limit in the ordinance that allowed the wind park in Mason County.

9 & 10’s Meredith Barack and photojournalist Jeff Blakeman were at the meeting, and have more on concerns that residents still have.
