At 8 PM EDT, July 31, 2013, the Tipton County, Indiana, Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) rejected Juwi Wind’s request to modify and reduce setbacks. The vote was 3 for, 1 against. The required 1,500 ft. setback from any property line stands. Juwi will have another opportunity to present a Property Value Guarantee requested by the BZA on March 20, 2013. Due to the property disbursement in Liberty 1 and 2 and Prairie Townships, Tipton County, the 1,500 ft. setback will eliminate 90% of the Juwi’s Prairie Breeze project. The effort by the Citizens for Responsible Development is a decisive victory against wind farms in Tipton County, Indiana.
