Nothing friendly about wind

The Casper Star Tribune publication “Wind Power Projects” is an informative document on the subject of this relative new energy development for Wyoming. For those of you concerned about our State’s environment, it is a sobering prospective of things to come.
The document is informative and should be required reading for people interested in Wyoming’s future in wind power projects. As an example, the Chokecherry and Sierra projects, in southern Carbon County, would be roughly 344 square miles. This is a quarter of the size of Rhode Island and will be the largest in the United States. As noted in this document, the impact on the environment will be similar to the development of a new subdivision. In many ways, new subdivisions are more friendly to many aspects of the environment (birds and vegetation and, in Casper, deer and antelope). There are no environmentally friendly aspects in a massive wind energy developments.
It will be interesting to read the environmental impact statement on this project. Like an unstoppable tornado there is no stopping massive wind power projects and the wide spread destruction of Wyoming’s environment.
