Lincolnshire County Council response to renewable energy planning guidance

The county council welcome renewable energy planning guidance for wind turbines and solar farms published today by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Coun Colin Davie, executive member for the environment at the council, said: “We welcome the government’s decision to bring this guidance out quickly. Local people deserve to have a greater say on developments in their area, and these changes couldn’t have come too soon.

“Hopefully the new rules will give communities the power to stop the unrestrained invasion of wind farms across the county – something local people have been calling for.

“We now just have to wait and see whether these changes do what the government say they will.”
