Holme-on-Spalding Moor wind farm proposal refused by planners

Pocklington Post | 23 July 2013 | www.pocklingtonpost.co.uk

Contentious plans to build a wind farm near Holme-on-Spalding Moor have been refused by East Riding Council.

The planning application was for full planning permission to erect six three-bladed wind turbines measuring up to 128 metres high to the tip and 81.5 metres to the hub on land north west of Welham Bridge, West Howden Road, Holme-on-Spalding Moor.

East Riding Council’s planning committee decided last Thursday to go against the recommendation of Alan Menzies, the council’s director of planning and economic regeneration.

His recommendation was for the application to be deferred subject to the Ministry of Defence confirming the withdrawal of their objection and the completion of a Section 106 Agreement for a Community Fund to be set up for delivering local community facilities and initiatives.
