Groups to return to court over wind farm stoush

ABC News | 18 July 2013 | www.abc.net.au

The developer of a proposed wind farm near Burra, in South Australia’s mid-north, and two local residents will return to court next month after failing to reach a compromise in a dispute about the development.

Energy Australia and the local council agreed on an amended proposal earlier this year for the 41-turbine Stony Gap wind farm after the council rejected the company’s initial application.

However, the two residents were given permission to have their objections heard in the Environment, Resources and Development Court yesterday.

A directions hearing between the two parties is scheduled for August 1.
