Energy Committee to study alternative energy sources

WAREHAM – The Board of Selectmen voted to form an Energy Committee, which will look at alternative forms of energy including wind, solar, and water power.

Selectman Patrick Tropeano said it was important to have a committee in place and to establish a bylaw because wind power has been a controversial subject matter in other towns.

“We don’t have a bylaw in place for wind power,” said Tropeano. “It’s always problematic when you don’t have one in place.”

The Energy Committee will consist of the Town Planner, a Planning Board member, a Zoning Board member, a selectman, a Finance Committee member, the Town Administrator or a designee, and three citizens-at-large.
