Invenergy secures financing for Orangeville Wind Farm

ORANGEVILLE – The Chicago-based Invenergy Wind LLC has secured the financing for the planned Orangeville Wind Farm.
“Invenergy is pleased to have completed this financing for our second wind project in New York State,” said Jim Murphy, chief financial officer and chief operating officer, in a news release. “We appreciate the confidence shown by our financial partners in the quality of our projects.”
Construction is underway at the project that will include 58 turbines when complete. Contractors include Tetra Tech Construction and O’Connell Electric Company – both of New York – along with the Pennsylvania-based Henkels & McCoy.
The wind farm will produce enough renewable energy to power more than 38,000 homes, Invenergy officials said. It’s expected all the turbines will be installed by early fall, with commercial operations starting by the end of the year.
Invenergy’s nearby High Sheldon Wind Farm commenced operations in 2009.
