KINGSTON – The Independence wind turbine is offline after damage to its computer system during this weekend’s electrical storm.
Kingston Wind Independence co-owner and co-manager Kially Ruiz said the Independence is offline because the programmable logic controller computer system was damaged after a power surge in the coaxial/Ethernet cable line due to the electrical storm.
He said the wind turbine is offline until KWI can source a new mother board and American Superconductor WindTec/Hyundai can complete an electrical inspection.
