Three smaller Nova Scotia wind energy projects received clearance Tuesday from the provincial Environment Department.
A co-development project in the Truro-Millbrook area will have the capacity to power about 3,300 homes, while another in Whynotts Settlement, Lunenburg County, will have less than half that capacity.
Truro Heights Wind Ltd. Partnership can now proceed with installation and operation of two turbines in Hilden.
This small wind farm will link with a three-turbine project coming through the Millbrook Community Wind Project.
The province said the Truro-Millbrook projects will result in construction of five turbines with the capacity to generate 10 megawatts.
The Whynotts Wind Ltd. Partnership will build and operate a single four-megawatt turbine.
