Sacrifices at the Massachusetts green energy altar

June 25, 2013 | www.southcoasttoday.com

The residential abutters to commercial megawatt wind turbines now have to wonder how much longer the out-of-compliance noise beatings will continue? Until further notice? Maybe forever? Have families become road-kill, thrown under the bus and become fodder for the Massachusetts green energy machine?

The road to a greener Massachusetts is littered with road-kill in Falmouth, Fairhaven, Kingston and Scituate. Thousands of noise complaints have been filed statewide. The commercial megawatt wind turbine issues point to the deepening divide between town residents, local politicians, contractors and the Patrick administration.

The state administration is pushing to clear the way for renewable energy development despite health hazards of residential abutters of commercial megawatt wind turbines. Massachusetts has a failed renewable energy goal of 2,000 megawatts of renewable energy by the year 2020.

What will be the next step? Do the political officials ask that you throw your neighbors’ families with their children aside and consider them fodder so that the community can continue to maximize the benefits of wind energy?
