The Midlands Alliance Group marched to Dublin Castle yesterday in protest at the proposed erection of industrial wind turbines in the midlands.
Robert Troy TD, and Senator John Kelly addressed the crowd as they arrived at the gates of Dublin Castle.
The EU Inter-parliamentary Conference on Renewable Energy was under way when the protest rally arrived at the castle. Sinn Féin spokesperson on Agriculture, Marine and Food, Michael Colreavy TD, accepted the list of key concerns presented on behalf of the Midland Alliance Group.
The concerns about wind turbines include the number proposed for the midlands and that the current guidelines on wind energy are “out of date”.
