Cutting power for beauty

The Spokesman-Review | June 19, 2013 | www.spokesman.com

The geography of Eastern Washington has experienced a dramatic change in the last couple of years. Hideous arrays of tall, three-blade electric-power generating windmills have been put in place on the hills east of Rosalia and on the hills east of Waitsburg heading toward Pomeroy, ruining what were once picturesque, pastoral views in these locales – in my opinion.

A substantial reduction of electric power usage by Northwest citizens might make the owners of these windmills take them down.

I urge Inland Northwest citizens who feel these windmills are hideous eyesores to cut their electric power consumption as much as reasonably possible and practicable.
