This Wednesday (June 12) at 11 a.m., the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is holding a special meeting to consider a moratorium on any new commercial wind and solar projects in the county, until the County General Plan can be amended to deal with them. Please e-mail these three supervisor chiefs of staff a short letter such as:
The county needs to inform the California Energy Commission that it rejects the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan and its “development focus areas” as currently constituted. Renewables “zoning” and siting criteria need to be done by residents and the county – NOT by the State. We residents of the desert want to work with the County on this.
Chiefs of staff and their e-mails:
2nd District-Chad Mayes – chad.mayes@bos.sbcounty.gov
4th District-Larry Enriquez – larry.enriquez@bos.sbcounty.gov
5th District-Daniel Flores – dflores@sbcounty.gov
Please send your three e-mails by Tuesday, June 11.
