Windfarm would be ‘too close for comfort’

Following on from what they say was a very successful public meeting in Lisgood Community Centre last week, the Ardglass Wind Turbine Action Awareness Group is holding a clinic on Wednesday next, June 5th at 8.30 pm in the same venue for anyone seeking advice or assistance with their submissions to Cork County Council on the developer’s planning application.

It’s emerged that the developers, Ardglass Wind Farm Ltd., a subsidiary company of Lissarda-based company Enerco, had their application returned by the county council. They resubmitted it on May 22nd. Submissions must now be made by June 25th in writing to Cork County Council.

The company’s plan to develop a large scale wind farm in their area has caused major consternation with locals worried about the height of the proposed turbines, their visual and noise impact and the possible devaluation of their homes. The giant turbines would be ‘too close for comfort’ they say.
