Noord-Holland wil geen windmolens dicht bij kust

(Novum) – Noord-Holland wil niet dat het rijk onderzoekt of windmolenparken dicht bij de kust kunnen worden gebouwd. De provincie wil het open zicht op zee behouden en schrijft in een zienswijze aan minister van Infrastructuur en Milieu Melanie Schultz van Haegen (VVD) dat dit gevoelig ligt in de maatschappij.
De minister wil onderzoeken of het haalbaar is om binnen twaalf mijl (ruim negentien kilometer) van de kust windmolenparken te bouwen. De provincie gaat ervan uit dat dit tot veel verzet leidt en dat het uitzicht wordt verpest en ziet dus geen meerwaarde in zo’n studie. Windmolens die meer dan twaalf mijl van de kust liggen zijn volgens de provincie wel welkom omdat die grote kansen bieden voor de Noord-Hollandse windsector.
