Campaigners fighting East Staffs wind turbine plans

May 14, 2013 | www.signal1.co.uk

People in part of East Staffordshire have joined forces to fight plans for a wind turbine.

Bramshall Action Group has been formed to raise awareness of the proposal for a 243 foot turbine near Spring Farm.

Objections have to be in by tomorrow at 5pm.

Ann Francis, speaking on behalf of campaigners, says they’re worried about noise, wildlife, and the visual impact…

The planning statement in the application says “The proposed location of the turbine was chosen to benefit from: the on-site wind resource, with the NOABL Wind Speed at 25m measuring 6.1 m/s; the availability of space on site, with an adequate separation distance from residential properties, ecology issues and other interests of acknowledged importance; the ability of the surrounding landscape and built environment to have the capacity to absorb the development, in terms of visual and noise impact.”

Comments on the plans can be made to planning.customerservices@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk, quoting P/2013/00430.
