Don’t believe everything you’re told by ‘Big Wind’

There are so many Wisconsin people who belieive that industrial wind turbine projects are the greatest. Five years ago I did, too. When we werwe approached by WE Energies, we agreed to allow them to put electircal lines on our property to help them complete the Blue Sky Green Field wind project here in Fond du Lac County.
We were thinking “green energy” was great and did not ask for any compensation for the lines across our property. We thought we were helping our community.
A lot has happened these last five years since these industrial wind turbines went online. The noise these giants generated are part of our lives 24/7. Often, I get awakened in the middle of the night by the noise and vibration the wind turbines make. Try getting through your day on a couple hours of sleep. I now have ringing in my ears and, often, very bad headaches. There are noises you don’t hear that vibrate through my home that are harmful to my family’s health.
WE Energies never talked about these side effects with any of us before the project was built. They kept saying that the noise would be like “the hum of a refrigerator.”
With little help from WE Energy and Vestas, I went to the internet to find out more about wind turbines. Go to wind_watch.org. People living in wind turbine projects around the country and the world are reportering getting sick in their homes. We have lived here for many years and I don’t want to leave my home. If you live in a wind turbine project, document your symptoms and call your county nurse to report the health problems.
Together, maybe there is something that can be done to get our lives back.
