Saugeen Shores council is making it official – it does not want more wind turbines in their municipality.

Council voted to prepare a letter to send to Premier Kathleen Wynne, declaring the municipality an unwilling host to future wind energy developments.

Vice-Deputy Mayor Doug Gowanlock says it’s the only way to find out if the province is serious about only approving wind turbines in municipalities that want them.

He adds the majority of residents in Saugeen Shores have made it clear they are not in favour of wind turbines and council is simply acting accordingly.
