Dozens of residents went out to dinner to give an action group a funding boost.
People living in a number of parishes have linked up to fight plans for a windfarm on a site at the former Tranwell Airfield.
And the Tranwell Windfarm Action Group (TWAG) campaign efforts have been supported by two curry nights at Char Mausum in Stannington Station. More than 100 people enjoyed both evenings, which made £884 in total.
TWAG member Karen Carins said: “Restaurant owner Mohammed Iqbal made very generous donations to the raffle prizes.
“Our next official fundraiser is a Murder Mystery in Whalton Village Hall on Saturday, May 18, from 7.30pm – details at www.tranwellwindfarm.co.uk”
