The Buckeye Wind II project will not be discussed during May’s Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) meeting as the project is not on the agenda for the May 1 meeting.

The second phase of the Buckeye Wind project proposes to build up to 56 turbines. Combined with the state-approved Buckeye Wind project, the proposed wind farms would combine to build as many as 110 utility-scale wind turbines in eastern Champaign County on private land under lease with wind developer EverPower.

Since EverPower submitted a proposed amendment related to the first phase of the wind farm project, six parties have intervened the amendment including the city of Urbana, the Champaign County Commission and Urbana and Union townships.
