Plans for Lew Valley wind turbine rejected

Plans for a 79m (260ft) high wind turbine in Devon have been rejected.

Planning officers at West Devon Council had recommended permitting the turbine in a field in the Lew Valley area, near Beaworthy, but councillors voted not to approve it.

Concerns raised by objectors to the plans included its visual impact.

Four parish councils criticised the plans, including Beaworthy Council, which claimed nearby homes would also be disturbed.
