The Northwest Ohio region could see an increase in wind turbines.

It’s estimated that an additional 50 wind turbines could be built in the Blue Creek and Latty Townships of Paulding County.

National Wind held a question and answer session for the community, as ordered by the Ohio Power Sitting Board before getting certified.

Although National Wind representatives declined to be interviewed, they did bring maps proposing areas where the turbines would be placed, which is what the community was most eager to find out. They also wanted to make sure their infrastructure was taken care of.

Depending on how many turbines actually go up, the schools in the area will get a stipend for each one, which also makes one former teacher happy.

The project is expected to begin by the end of the year and will take four to six months to be complete.
