Over 100 people turned out to a public meeting to fight a proposed windfarm in Brogborough.

The meeting was held at Cranfield Methodist Hall last Thursday, was called by the group Against Cranfield Turbines (ACT), a working group set up to fight the plan to build up to eight turbines in Brogborough, off the A421.

It was attended by around 150 residents, MP for Mid Beds Nadine Dorries and members of Cranfield Parish Council.

ACT chairman Sue Clark, who is a Central Beds Councillor of Marston and Cranfield, said: “The meetng went really well, it was standing room only at the back, so we’re really pleased with the turnout.

She added: “There can be some side effects living so close to these industrial turbines, and that one of the points we want to get across.”

Stuart Markham, project development manager at FCC Environment said: “Outline proposals were initially shared in January this year and the views of local people are being carefully reviewed and taken into consideration as the plans evolve and progress.

“Independent specialist consultants have been commissioned to carry out a full Environmental Impact Assessment to investigate the potential impacts of the proposed project.”
