The Cumnock area has received a second potential cash boost after another wind farm developer announced plans to hand over cash to the community.
Bank Renewables have announced that they will be offering a 2.5 per cent share in their proposed High Cumnock wind farm to the community – potentially creating a minimum £3.4 million fund.
It comes just two weeks after Peel Energy offered up shares to the community on its proposed development at Garleffan.
Banks Renewables recently submitted plans for the eight turbine wind farm at High Cumnock to East Ayrshire Council – also confirming that they will increase the community’s share in revenue from 1.5 per to 2.5 per cent with a minimum investment of £5,000 per megawatt generated every year.
