Irony of British protest

The recent news of the memorandum of understanding between Ireland and England, placing what is rumoured to be the largest land-based wind turbines in the world across five Irish counties, beggars belief.

These monstrosities, spread around 40 clusters in five counties, will each be 180 metres tall – higher than the Dublin Spire.

A report stated that the biggest opposition is coming from foreign nationals in the areas, particularly British. So we are in the toe-curling position of having the people whose homeland is benefiting from our stupidity, begging us not to destroy our own land for their sake!

At what point do the Irish people realise that one shackle is much the same as another, that Ireland will not be turned into a factory for others and tell the politicians where they can put their turbines?
