Governor Dave Heineman says the Revenue Committee’s priorities are “misguided.” That comes after a decision to advance a wind energy bill.
That bill would provide tax breaks to out-of-state wind energy developers.
Heineman says he’s “disappointed” that the Revenue Committee would advance this bill when it refuses to provide much needed tax relief to Nebraska families, seniors, veterans and small businesses.
He says the Legislature should be working harder to lower taxes for Nebraska citizens instead.
Kearney Senator Galen Hadley was one of five that pushed for the bill.
