Copper and fires at wind committee

The State’s principal transmission company which transports high voltage power across long distances and to remote areas will face the select committee inquiry into wind farms tomorrow (28 Feb).

ElectraNet will give evidence about the capacity of SA’s transmission network to cope with additional wind farms.

The Country Fire Service will be questioned about the impact of wind turbines on fire-fighting. The restrictions on aerial fire-bombing near turbines has been raised in many of the 150 submissions received by the committee.
