Board of Health seeks acoustical expert

KINGSTON – If the state Department of Environmental Protection doesn’t provide the Board of Health an acoustical sound engineer to interpret the data collected from the Independence wind study, board members are prepared to look for one of their own.

The board would need to seek approval from the Board of Selectmen for the hiring. A $16,000 cost estimate was quoted by Board of Health member Bill Kavol.

The Board of Health will also ask selectmen to contact Kingston Wind Independence about the possibility of entering what Chairman Joe Casna described as meaningful negotiation for the mitigation of flicker.
