Industrial wind farm will ruin kayakers’ experiences

The Cape Breton Post | February 18, 2013 | www.capebretonpost.com

We are three of many passionate kayakers who paddle the magnificent moving waters of Bras d’or Gut, Bras d’or Lake, and Georges River.

We love the adventures and thrills, such as a new vista found around the next river or lake bend, exploring hikes, swimming at the provincial Groves Point beach, and the wonderful sunsets.

Our kayaks are a vehicle for water experiences from lakes to the wide blue ocean. When we kayak we are truly immersed in nature and it is an ideal vehicle to transport the mysteries and rewards of these natural waters and shorelines.

The many different birds, the majestic bald eagles soaring over our heads, and other animals such as seals, deer, rabbits, and foxes, require protection from the ugly, unnatural industrial wind turbines that may ruin our Hillside/Groves Point area.

Species will become extinct as irreversible decisions result in death. It is unfair for Natural Forces to think of placing industrial wind turbines in Hillside/Groves Point.
