100 people object to wind turbines at Denbighshire

More than 100 people have objected to plans to build two 150ft wind turbines at a beauty spot.

The proposals earmarked for land at Syrior, Llandrillo near Corwen, will go before Denbighshire Council’s Planning Committee on Wednesday.

They are recommended for refusal on a number of grounds including the “adverse impact” they would have on the “setting of protected landscaped areas” and that they would “contribute to the perceived incremental spread of wind development.”

The Stop The Exploitation of Mynydd Mynyllod (STEMM) website says: “The council officers dispute this can be considered as “farm diversification” as Syrior is an upland livestock farm and therefore not energy intensive.”

Opponents to the scheme will attend the meeting.
