Wind farm claim is settled with Tama Co.

Tama County Engineer Lyle Brehm told the Board of Supervisors on Monday, Feb. 11, the Vienna Wind Farm project has now settled for damages done in their work to put up wind turbines in the northwestern portion of the county.

A meeting was held with Mid-American Energy to make an assessment of needs with the cost of rock from the quarry and the cost of contract haulers .

Damages totaled $32,405 and a settlement was made.

Brehm also told supervisors they were hauling rock only in hazardous areas at the present time. Rock hauling county-wide will start soon, he said.

The date of Monday, March 4, at 10 a.m. has been set for a public hearing of the Fiscal Year 2014 budget to be held in the Tama County Board of Supervisors meeting room, 204 West State, Toledo.

Due to Presidents’ Day falling on Monday, Feb. 18, supervisors will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Claims for the past week paid totaled $149,342.
