More than 250 farmers and residents on Yorke Peninsula have called for a moratorium on the proposed Ceres wind farm development at a public meeting at the weekend.

The 199 turbine development, which is potentially to be the largest in Australia, is expected to cover 18,000 hectares west of Black Point.

Tania Stock is the spokesperson of the Heartland Farmers Association which represents up to 300 YP residents, predominantly farmers.

Ms. Stock says that she’s hopeful the call for a moratorium will be taken up by the state government.
