Residents near Hoosac Wind Project complaining of noise

FLORIDA – Residents in close proximity to the Hoosac Wind Project located in Florida and Monroe will hold a press conference Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 61 Tilda Hill Road, Florida at 1 p.m. to discuss what they describe as “disturbing and unbearable ” wind turbine noise in and around neighboring homes. Noise complaints have been reported to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

The Hoosac Project is comprised of nineteen 240-foot-tall wind turbines, and is the largest wind project in the state. it began operation in December 2012. Some turbines are as close as 1,600 feet to residences.
