CBRM should study turbines before OK’ing development

After Health Canada said that an in-depth study would take place to determine the health effects turbines might have on humans and animals, many residents of Hillside Boularderie became concerned and have held meetings.
Having turbines in our area should alert provincial and municipal officials, and they should exercise caution. Recently Kings County council put a moratorium on all future wind turbines until further study is done.
Many countries are ensuring that at least a two-kilometre distance is set between the turbine and a dwelling. This makes sense.
Have Cape Breton Regional Municipality officials done an in-depth study of the effects that wind turbines have on human and animal life? If not, they should put a hold on all future development until proper studies are done by people with expertise, and a policy is formed.
No one is against green energy and its good effects. We all thought cigarettes were good, too, until the negative effects became known.
