Wind farm blight

Reports suggest that home owners affected by the HS2 high speed railway will receive higher than average compensation payments if their homes are close by.
Anyone living near a newly built motorway receives compensation, but people forced to live near wind farms receive nothing.
Many European countries pay compensation for people whose homes have been devalued by a wind farm, but the establishment and the wind industry in the UK are still insisting that home values are not affected.
Many people trying to sell their homes have been advised by estate agents they can expect a drop of at least 20 per cent or more and in some cases their homes are valueless.
I am glad to see the Scottish Tories state that no one should be forced to live within 2km (1.2miles) of a wind farm or industrial-sized turbine.
It’s time for ministers to have a rethink. Cheaper electricity offered to some homeowners does not make up for the loss of value of a property or for the loss of amenity and often sleepless nights.
