Field Naturalists prepare for wind farm appeal

Jan 24th, 2013 | www.quintenews.com

Thousands of documents are piling up as the next stage in the wind turbine fight gets set to begin in Prince Edward County.

The County Field Naturalists group has just filed between one-thousand and two-thousand documents with its lawyer in readiness for the fight over the controversial wind farm proposed for Ostrander Point.

Past president Cheryl Anderson says she’s confident the group will win its appeal to the Environmental Review Tribunal since federal agencies such as Environment Canada and Nature Canada say it’s not a good location.

The appeal is expected to cost 100-thousand dollars …15-thousand has been raised so far.

The preliminary hearing is set for February 8th at Picton Town Hall, with the main hearing going ahead in March.
