Wind turbine at Tamworth service station approved after appeal

Appeal inspectors have given the go-ahead for Moto Hospitality Ltd to erect a 50 metre high wind turbine at Tamworth Moto Services.

North Warwickshire borough planners had thrown out the controversial scheme in March, after much opposition including objections from local MP’s Chris Pincher and Dan Byles.

But the Inspector approved the scheme, saying: “In the local area there is little scope for panoramic views and the turbine would generally only be visible between buildings and in most views it would be seen as being within the complex of the motorway services area.”
