Letters oppose turbine plans

A wind farm action group has presented hundreds of letters of objection opposing applications in the district.
The Marsh Wind Farm Action Group covers the area from South Humberstone to Gayton le Marsh.
The group presented letters of objection to Councillor Tony Bridges, portfolio holder for the environment at Tedder Hall, the headquarters of East Lindsey District Council.
The letters included 1,515 against plans for eight 105-metre high wind turbines at Bishopthorpe Farm, off Newton Marsh Lane, in Tetney.
Other letters of objection were submitted against new plans for turbines at Wragholme and Manby.
Campaigner Melvin Grosvenor said: “This sends a clear message that people are becoming more and more concerned about the industrialisation of our countryside and they are prepared to stand up and say no.”
