Anti-turbine advocates to gather in Falmouth

A group plans to hold demonstrations today in anticipation of a selectmen’s meeting where the public may comment on a report by a panel on town-owned turbines.

The Falmouth Committee on Human Rights – a loose association of people who oppose Falmouth’s two 1.65-megawatt turbines at the Wastewater Treatment Facility on Blacksmith Shop Road – plan to begin demonstrating on the Falmouth Village Green at 2 p.m., said member David Moriarty.

Unsure of how many people will attend, Moriarty said the demonstration could travel to other locations in Falmouth until the selectmen’s meeting at town hall.

After meeting 25 times over eight months, members of the Falmouth Wind Turbine Options Analysis Process met Friday with selectmen, who listened to an overview of the panel’s 55-page report.

Selectmen tonight will take public comment on the report beginning at 6:30 p.m.
