DERBY – The Derby Planning Commission wants voters polled on their feelings about wind turbines within the town.
Planners had discussed the issue at a meeting weeks ago and had voted to recommend the select board draft a question to poll voters at Town Meeting. But the select board did not settle on a question. Last Monday, planners again discussed a non-binding vote and came up with the question to recommend to the select board.
The question was phrased: “Are you in favor of industrial size wind turbines in the Town of Derby?”
The select board will discuss this at their regular meeting tonight, Monday, at 6:30.
