An application to build eight wind turbines near Dalmellington is set to be rejected after 1183 objections were made against the plan.
Burnhead Windfarm Ltd hope to erect the eight turbines up to 100m at Chalmerston just 2.4km north of Dalmellington.
However, the plan has attracted considerable opposition from local residents, claiming that the wind farm would have a massive impact on the landscape and on tourism.
And it looks as though council planning officers agree with the residents, recommending that the East Ayrshire Planning Committee reject the proposal when it comes before them at a special meeting in Dalmellington this Friday, January 18.
