Landscape could be blighted if green energy scheme is passed

East Lindsey Target | January 16, 2013 | www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk

A wind farm application is set to be decided by planners tomorrow (Thursday).

East Lindsey District Council’s planning committee will decide whether to grant permission for four wind turbines on land north of Fen Bank near Wainfleet St Mary and Friskney. Developers RWE npower renewables want to build the turbines to a tip height of 127 metres and also erect an anemometry mast and substation.

The application has been recommended for refusal by planning officers as they believe it would significantly harm the distinctive character of the landscape.

The plans have received 1,210 letters against the proposal and three in support.

The meeting is at 10.30am at Tedder Hall, Manby.
