Gingery fights to end moratorium

The continuation of a moratorium on eminent domain for obtaining right-of-way for power transmission lines from wind farms was passed on first reading in the Wyoming House of Representatives Monday. Representative Keith Gingery says that moratorium is detrimental to the development of alternative energy sources in the state. Gingery says without assurance of connectivity, the wind energy industry will not continue in Wyoming. However, he says the House voted to keep the statute for another two years. Still, he says he is hopeful as it sees more discussion on future readings, the moratorium’s role in blocking such diversification in the state’s economy will be better understood.
