KINGSTON – The Jan. 14 Board of Health hearing on wind turbines in town was canceled. Now it’s back on.

The hearing is scheduled again for Monday, Jan. 14, as originally planned, according to the town administrator’s office and the health agent.

Acting Town Administrator Nancy Howlett said mid-day that the hearing had been postponed to accommodate residents who would not be able to attend the Monday night meeting. She said she expected the meeting would be postponed for two weeks and rescheduled to Jan. 28.

And Board of Health Chairman Joe Casna said he had been contacted by concerned resident Doreen Reilly about postponing the wind turbine discussion because she could not be present and spoke with Howlett and Town Planner Tom Bott about accomodating her request. However, Reilly says she did not request of Casna that the hearing be postponed, but rather asked if it could be held sooner.

Health Agent Henny Walters confirmed this afternoon that the meeting is back on. It’s scheduled for 6 p.m. in Room 200 of the Town House.
