Villagers have been left in a state of shock and disbelief over plans for a wind turbine near an historic abbey.
Plans have been submitted to East Staffordshire Borough Council’s planning committee for a 47 metre high wind turbine 600 metres from Croxden Abbey by Mr J Kent to generate energy for farm operations. However, residents of Croxden and Holllington have been left angered by the plans which will see the turbine 400 metres from Hollington Road and 600-800 metres from Croxden.
Residents have now held two meetings to discuss the plans with more than 70 people attending and unanimously agreeing to the formation of an action group. They believe residents in Croxden, Hollington, Great Gate, Stubwood, Combridge, Crakemarsh and Marston Montgomery will be affected.
