Cape Wind continues trend of breaking all its promises

Cape Cod Times | December 02, 2012 | www.capecodonline.com

For those of us who are all too familiar with the various misleading claims made by Cape Wind over the past decade, the news that developers are exploring the possibility of moving local jobs out of state comes as no surprise.

This latest news that Cape Wind is talking to Rhode Island about using its ports as the wind farm’s construction staging area is just one more in a long string of Cape Wind inaccuracies and wild promises that never seem to materialize. First, Cape Wind says it will bring affordable power to the state – then we learn that it will actually add billions in electric costs for local businesses and residents.

Perhaps the most ludicrous claim is that Cape Wind would help the local economy even though it’s actually a tourism and local job killer. And now developers are talking about taking jobs out of state.

Enough is enough. When will people learn that Cape Wind is not nothing but 10 years of poor planning and broken promises? Locals should keep up the good fight.
